About Founder
Jake is the Chairman & CEO of Danville Solutions. Jake founded Danville Group in 2022, which includes Danville Brands, Danville Solutions and Danville Advisors.
Jake is an American entrepreneur and business leader with over twenty years of experience in China and two decades of experience in cross-border business and deal making between the US and China. With over 15 years focused on the consumer sector and for the last 10 years on consumer, tech and e-commerce, Jake has worked on all stages of business from being part of the executive team at supply-chain behemoth Li & Fung, then a $30 billion listed company, where he worked on acquiring (and selling) global brands among other things, to working as a start-up entrepreneur with founding teams to build businesses from zero to then scale internationally.
Based in Shanghai since 2012, Jake has been CEO of Acorn International, NYSE-listed until 2021, where he helped engineer and execute Acorn’s repositioning as an e-commerce brand builder and b2c seller, bundling some of China’s best known indigenous consumer brands. Jake is currently a Board Director or Advisor to several leading institutions, and is a member of YPO-Shanghai.
Jake came to China first when he was 15 years old in 1992.
He graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School. He speaks, reads and writes Chinese.
